WORLD AND PARALYMPIC CHAMPION   MARK COLBOURNE

In May 2009, Mark survived a Paragliding accident in South Wales, but was left with a broken back and severe lower leg paralysis from the accident. He underwent five months of grueling physiotherapy just to learn to walk again. With a natural passion for sport, as part of his treatment and rehabilitation, he went on to compete in the Welsh indoor adaptive rowing championships.

In September 2009, he set himself a target of competing in his first Para-cycling event and went on to win two gold medals at the Wales Grand Prix in Newport. His remarkable commitment saw him being invited as a guest rider for the GB Para-cycling team before joining the squad last year. Now Mark has been hailed a “great role model” after he set two new world records after winning a gold & two silver medals at the recent 2012 London Paralympic Games. Mark will be the first to tell you that Nutrition played a big part in helping him get onto that podium for those medals. Now it’s time to listen to Mark’s inspiring story first hand!
