Young coconuts have more water and gel-like flesh, while more mature fruits have firm meat. It is enough to know that the nutrition benefits of coconuts are numerous which makes it great healthy snacks, especially as it fills you up quite quickly and healthily.

Coconut can be safely added for any diet type as one of your healthy snacks. Young coconuts are best for carb and mixed types while more mature coconuts are best for protein types. You may buy pre-sliced, generally mature coconuts, they are an excellent idea for your healthy snacks and will bring proteins and potassium.

Coconuts also contain lauric acid, which is antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal, it also boosts the immune system.

Coconut Juice

Fresh coconut juice is one of the highest sources of electrolytes and can be used against dehydration, for example if you are experiencing diarrhea or for strenuous exercise, instead of a sports drink. Other health benefits of coconuts and coconut oil we love:

  • Prevent wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin
  • Help with digestive issues and IBS
  • Help maintain a healthy weight
  • Increase metabolism and promotes thyroid function
  • Decrease cholesterol and boost energy.

Healthy snacks are better if you have a variety of them and change from time to time. The more you get into your healthy snacks routine, the less you will be tempted to fall for those crisps.
