Turmeric, widely used in curries in India is now a “Superfood”! Turmeric has curcumin a powerful anti-oxidant that can fight off bacterial, anti viral, and fungal infections as well as cancer and alzheimer’s disease. Very strong anti-inflammatory, it is commonly used for stomach disorders. Turmeric, a common food spice can be added to your smoothies for a unique flavor! Here are some ideas for Turmeric Recipes:
Loaded with dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals, this smoothie tastes like a spicy pinacolada.
In a blender, mix in a cup of coconut milk, half a cup of pineapple chunks, a fresh banana, a tablespoon of coconut oil, a tablespoon of Turmeric, a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of ginger and half a teaspoon of chia seeds. Pulse for a few seconds until smooth. Transfer to a tall glass and enjoy!
Ginger and Turmeric gives this smoothie a spicy and exotic taste that is so unique, it’s awesome!
Process half a cup of celery and cucumber, half a teaspoon of ginger and a teaspoon of Turmeric in a blender until smooth. Squeeze in some lemon juice. Pour in a glass and drink this antioxidant rich detox fiber smoothie.
Great for healing the body’s inflammations, great smoothie too!
Mix plain coconut milk, 3-4 ice cubes, one teaspoon of coconut oil, a splash of vanilla extract, one teaspoon of cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and ground cloves and half one teaspoon of Turmeric. Blend all ingredients until smooth, add one teaspoon of chia seeds. Once softened, pour onto a wine goblet and enjoy our dessert!
Excellent for cleansing the system, this “liquid salad” is also a great liver detox.
Take a bunch of romaine lettuce, one cucumber, 3 carrots, one peeled lemon and one teaspoon of turmeric powder. Process in a blender until smooth. Pour in a glass and enjoy!
Incorporate Turmeric Recipes into your diet regularly to strengthen your immune system, promote good digestion and treat inflammatory conditions like arthritis. Drinking a different Turmeric smoothie daily will do you a lot of good. Other ingredients in the smoothie are rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and phytochemicals that promote good health!
