Given the different skin types, it is expected that people will have different reactions to supplements and other skin products. But would people have an adverse reaction to Vitamin E?

You must have heard of individuals who treat their acne with vitamin E and get good results from it. On the other hand, there are those who suffer more acne outbreak as a result of using vitamin E and you’d wonder what could have happened. So now, the question whether vitamin E can cure acne or make it worse bears relevance in the entire conversation pertaining to skin health.

The Type of Vitamin E You Are Using

Universally, vitamin E works in treating acne and acne scars. The human immune system requires this kind of vitamin to make the skin and hair healthy. However, some people use the wrong vitamin E on their face and there’s where the problem is.

Many of us are unaware that there are certain types of vitamin E that are good or bad for the skin. The difference may seem too trivial when you look at the back labelling of those vitamin E supplements in the pharmacy. But, knowing this little difference makes a huge impact in your overall cosmetic experience.

  • D-Alpha Tocopheryl – this is NATURAL VITAMIN E and this is the best for the skin.
  • DI-Alpha Tocopheryl – this is SYNTHETIC VITAMIN E and the worse form at that.

The Effects of Using Natural and Synthetic Vitamin E

Fruits and vegetables are where vitamin E should be coming from and you’d only get to enjoy the real benefits of vitamin E when you get it from natural sources. So, the next time you go to a store to buy a jar of vitamin E capsules, make sure it has D-Alpha Tocopheryl written on the label. These may come a bit pricey compared to the other kind, but what the heck when your face is at stake, right?

Now the other kind, the one that says DI-Alpha Tocopheryl, is a fake kind of vitamin E. It is manufactured in the laboratory with chemicals in it. It is obviously cheaper, which makes a lot of consumers buy this kind thinking that all vitamin E products in the market are all the same.

The bottom line is that whenever you buy vitamin E gel, lotion or capsules, make sure to read the back label and it shouldn’t contain DI-Alpha Tocopheryl in the list of ingredients. Otherwise, don’t buy it.
