I have recently been through a massive detox that made me quite unwell; I had to stay in bed most of time. As you can imagine, I felt quite guilty for being so inactive but it also got me thinking. I am pretty healthy, even healthier than most people I know, but still I could see that, as a result of my constant research and self experimentation for OHM, I could go to another level, which triggered this temporary and beneficial healing crisis.
In the first half of the 20th Century, Louis Claude Vincent, a French Engineer, found out that the level of acidity in the body (having an acidic body) would eventually give rise to all kind of health issues, such as cancer, diabetes and a range of potential health problems.
His theory has been further developed by many scientists since. The proper cellular-level environment has since been considered as one of the key factors for good health. One of the evils of health is the acidic body: acid and inflammation created by improper nutrition and stress. As the blood needs to keep a Ph of 7.365, and if this level is altered by diet the body will trigger mechanisms to compensate for the acidity by robbing calcium from the bones. So beware of the acidic food that leaches the calcium from your bones and deposits it in your tissues and blood vessels.
Vascular clogging has a lot more to do with calcium deposits than cholesterol. Clogged arteries and vessels may have different outcomes depending on where the clogging appears to be the most prevalent in the body. Let’s review the field of possibilities:

What are the food that lead us to such a tragedy:
Another side effect of acidic body caused by food and the resulting calcium leaching from the bones is the weakening of your skeletal structure. A high rate of hip fracture is usually considered as a good indicator of prevalent osteoporosis and in the “China Study” conducted over 30 years, Dr Campbell concluded that the countries showing the highest rates of hip fractures are also the biggest dairy consumers.
But wait a minute – in TV adverts, they say that yogurts and milk give us strong bones … Well, yes, we may not be reading the same literature to come to a conclusion or may not have the same interests at heart for that matter.
I know what you are thinking: what’s left to eat? Frankly if you empty the shelves at the local supermarket of the tragic food: not much remains! Ok, I maybe I am exaggerating (am I?), but you get my point.
As I said at the beginning, I have started removing from my diet almost completely all the tragic and I can see pretty big changes happening from the inside out while I was thinking I was already doing all the right things.
First, you do not have to give up everything but do more of the magic things as opposed to the tragic (mentioned above) and replace it bit by bit.
What are the magic foods:
NB: Do not over consume fruits because of their sugar content, especially if your exercise activity is limited.
Second, there are easy way to introduce more magic in your life on a daily basis: have a green juice a day, a salads, oily fish, soups.
Every time I feel hungry I prepare myself a juice or a smoothie made from berries and coconut or almond milk. I never forget to add one or two tea spoons of amazing algae or natural vitamin C powder and chia seeds. Algae powder goes better with green juice and vitamin C with smoothies. Another great tip is to prepare your smoothie with kefir made from almond or coconut milk: a must for the intestinal flora.
Instead of snacking on biscuits or doughnuts which create acidic body and inflammation, you can also go nuts with almonds, brazil nuts (four brazil nuts a day are enough to get your required intake of selenium!). If you are craving bread, it can be easily replaced with pulses. Have hummus with cherry tomatoes, fresh carrots and celery.
Magnesium neutralises acidity in the body and avoid decalcification from bones and hardening of arteries. Most people are deficient in magnesium so it is essential to increase your diet in magnesium. Cacao and leafy greens are a good source and if you supplement go for natural sources.
