One of the tastiest healthy treats that you can put on the dinner table is Salsa.

Serving this dish will bring you many advantages. It is the perfect choice for an easy to prepare, zero-fat, healthy and flavorful addition to any meal. An added bonus is that Salsa is truly inexpensive to make. You can also flavor it in any way you want to. You can add more peppers to make it appetizingly hot. Or you can add fruits to give it a sweeter zing.

Here’s how to prepare your own homemade Fresh Salsa.

The Ingredients:

  • -You will need 2 Cups of freshly chopped tomatoes (or you can combine this with chopped peaches, nectarines, mangoes and even grapes for an added degree of sweetness!)
  • -A third of a cup of chopped white onion or the yellow onion variety
  • -Two whole tablespoons of chopped cilantro
  • -2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • -1 whole Jalapeño pepper or the serrano type of pepper with stems and seeds removed, finely chopped. (You can add more peppers if you want your salsa to be spicier!)
  • – And a Quarter of a teaspoon of fine sea salt.

Now all you need to do is to combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix them all together and place it in the refrigerator for a short chilling period before serving. Or you can immediately serve your homemade salsa.

This is a perfect “sauce” or condiment to any main dish. You can pair this with cheese quesadillas, roasted or baked fish or even meats.
