Detoxing Baths are Great to Have once a Week!

Ingredients

  • 2-4 cups of Epsom salts
  • A quarter cup of baking soda
  • add few drops of lavender oil for that serene bliss!

A healthy and relaxing Epsom salt bath is an excellent way to end a long hard day . The perfect time for a bath is just before bed for maximum relaxation and health rewards.

Adding some Epsom salts will give more detoxification benefits, such as;

  1. Magnesium Booster- The body is chronically magnesium deficient because the soil used for growing vegetables is notoriously low in this essential mineral. Epsom Salts are made from Magnesium sulfate which is easily absorbed in your body via the bath.
  2. Leech out toxins- Every day we are exposed to pollutants in our environment. The pollutants accumulate in your fat tissues over time. Endocrine is functions are hampered and cause free radical damage. A healthy bath gives the biggest detoxification organs in your body, a much needed break.
  3. Cures soreness and stiffness- Hot soothing baths have this great reputation. Heat and steam will ease your pores and unwind tense muscles
  4. Promotes perfect sleep- Many practitioners of Epsom baths swear by the best restful sleep they get because magnesium has a calming effect on the nervous system.
  5. Stress reliever- Baths ease out all the worries and stress of the day. Adding calming essential oils like lavender, clary sage, chamomile or sandalwood will the enhance your bath experience.
  6. Helps get rid of tension headaches or migraines- Regular, healthy bathing before sleep helps you get rid of these symptoms of stress.

The perfect bath right at home:

  • Step 1: Draw the bath; make the water as hot as you can stand but not scalding.
  • Step 2: Whilst the water runs, do some dry exfoliation with a dry skin brush. Your circulation will increase and you aid the lymphatic system to remove toxins. Your skin will be softer too and you promote cellulite removal.
  • Step 3: Add 2-4 cups full of Epsom salts. Add some baking soda to neutralize the chlorine formed. This will make your skin softer too! Try adding some powdered Vitamin C, an anti-oxidant. You can also use this powdered Vitamin C for smoothies and for face masks.
  • Step 4: You can add the essential oils that you prefer
  • Step 5: Soak for 15-30 minutes or get out when the water turns cold or you start pruning.

For a plus to your bathing experience, try lighting some scented candles or have a glass of wine. But since wine is not really friendly for your detoxification regimen, try using some restful bedtime tea blends for that perfect night’s sleep.

Enjoy!
